Laboratory Materials and Art Supplies

A.  Laboratory Procedures

1.
Students are responsible to leave the classroom clean and picked up.  Each student will clean his or her desk and put away materials and art supplies  - in the same place these were obtained from.

2.
Failure to show proper respect for laboratory materials may result in loss of lab privileges.

3.
Students will learn and be tested on safety procedures.  It is expected that students will make safety a high priority in their experimentation.

4.
Dishes, beakers, test tubes, glasses, and other supplies used during labs will be cleaned by the students in the sinks; sinks will then be cleaned.

5.
Students are not to touch, spoil or otherwise alter experiments in process in the science room.

B.  Art materials (paint, clay and construction paper)

1.
Students are to cover work surfaces prior to painting or working with clay.

2.
It is important for students to inform Mrs. Snyder when materials are running low; this permits the ordering of replacements.

3.
Paint brushes are to be thoroughly cleaned following student use.
